Today I had the chance to visit Rend Lake to help assist with their annual Earth Day Celebration for local grade schoolers.
I discussed the aspects of what the game of disc golf covers, gave various demos of throwing styles, and let the grade schoolers have their chance to make some putts. With a little bit of coaching and encouragement I was able to get a few of them to make some good putts. Even the teachers took interest in the sport and joined in on the putting fun with a little encouragement from their students.
Overall it was a great oppurtunity to get the word out to the youth around the area on what is becoming a very popular sport around our area and hopefully as time progresses more popular down here.
So take a look at some of the pictures from the day and you never know you might actually see some of these kids on the local courses soon.
