The Amature Championships in Bowling Green, KY kicked off today and so far has been a blast. While Alex and Kevin are in a different pool then me and Gavin it allows us to get a good insight into how the courses play before we get there.
The players party was packed with over 500 people lining up to get their player package discs, 5 in all from the likes of INNOVA, Discraft, DGA, Gateway, and Latitude 64!
New photos, are up now. Played a total of 4 rounds today, 2 for practice, 2 for tournament! Got some Whitt's BBQ for lunch and ate at an amazing Greek placed called Anna's, best gyros hands down ever.
I shot a 58 at Lovers and 57 at Hopsons Groove. Gavin shot a 57 Lovers and 54 at HG. Not 100% sure what Kevin and Alex did.
Beautiful day for disc golf on Sunday with a clear sky, light winds, and mild temps, nothing like what day 1 was so advantage to Alex and Kevin since they were at White this day.
Gavin had fought his way onto the top card with me in Pool F which made for a good card with two others. After going 4 after the first 6 holes I finally was able to get in a deuce and begin to climb back to even.
After getting out of the woods and getting some open shots in I was able to rattle of a nice deuce run getting me to a final of 51 which was 3 under par. Me and Brad tied for first so we decided to have a CTP to win the sweet custom stamped Champion glow Groove from INNOVA. It came down to about 6 inches between our throws but I walked away the victor and finished 8th overall out of about 93 players.
Great event all around, big thanks to the Bowling Green crew on this event.
