news.gif For those of you out there lucky enough to have a Wii, I do woot, and love to play disc golf, check there too, then THQ might have made what many of us have been waiting for.

THQ plans to release Big Beach Sports June 24, 2008 and at a reasonable $29.99 could make for a great addition to any Wii owners inventory of games.

THQ Big Beach Sports

Many have seen this release as just another mini-game sports package, and this may be true, but it does have disc golf and it has to be better then the disc golf that was included in the Super Monkey Ball Wii game. This game was a very poor attempt at including a disc golf mini game to Super Monkey Ball.

Big Beach Sports includes Disc Golf, Volleyball, Bocce, Football, Soccer, and cricket. I for one glad cricket is on there so maybe I will understand what is going on in the fields across from the disc gold parking lot a little more!

If one of the developers for the Wii were smart they would realize that disc golf could be spark a huge fan base if done correctly, think Tiger Woods Golf here, but since disc golf is not main stream this is more then likely just a pipe dream.

Regardless of how this game may execute on the disc golf feel, I will definitely be looking to try this out and once that happens I will be posting my thoughts on it.

Below is a short video that shows the other games included in this package and a super short glimpse into the disc golf game!

The new Disc Golf game for the Wii platform, named "PDGA presents Disc Golf" is still in development, but should be released sometime after the MotionPlus sensors come out for the WiiMote(hopefully around the holiday season). We spoke with their Studio Director, Shayne Guiliano, about how the development and idea was started, when we might see the game released, and how they've worked to develop a game that both beginners and Pro's will enjoy...
