events.gif The first Friday Night Glo was setup last night by the SIUC Disc Golf RSO and the outcome was, well, wet!

Just as those that went to the SIUC Drive-In last night found out there was a storm brewing that quickly moved into the area putting a halt to the night time activities.

The RSO was able to get the course setup with the multi-colored LED lights which worked like a charm!

We also were able to test out our glow discs, LED discs, and glowstick liquid covered discs. To our surprise the actual glow discs and glowstick covered discs faded rather quickly and were only able to get about 3 holes in before the discs were hard to see. The LED lighted discs proved to be the best for night play hands down. The LED are little battery operated lights that can be used for night time fishing, but when attached to a disc with some clear tape light it up for easy tracking.

With all the lightning, thunder, and eventual down pour we were only able to get in about 9 holes of play before we called it a night as the rain seemed to just keep coming. We quickly ran around to retrieve all the LED lights that we had placed on the baskets and tees and called it a night.

While we were disappointed in the fact that we only got a few good holes in we learned some lessons to be applied to the next Friday Night Glo event that we hold. The next Friday Night Glow should be scheduled around the end of May and will be posted on this website again.

We look forward to seeing more and more people come out to inquire just "what the hell are all these glowing objects out in the forest", and hopefully they will decide to join us for future events. For those that showed up, thanks for joining and we hope to see you out at the next event.
