In between doubles and singles it was time for some food.
The Centralia disc golf club ran and got pizza for everyone that wanted it, but
being how we are we dashed to a local place to grab some good grub. We ran
across a small hot dog stand that fit the bill. I believe the name of the place
was Nick’s Hot Dogs or something along those lines. I must say we all dug the
chili dogs there, but the Italian Beef was lacking even thought I was assured “It’s
the best!” from what seemed to be the owner of the stand. Sorry it doesn’t
hold a candle to Mr. A’s in Crystal Lake, IL as to which I compare all Italian
Beefs to and have not found a better yet. After some food it was time for a beer run,
but to my dismay I was only able to come away with some 6 month outdated Goose Island
312 when I was really looking for some Sierra Nevada Bigfoot Ale or and IPA of
some sort.
After our fast run for food and beverages it was back to
find out about the next round and to play round after round of “Ring of Fire”. All
in all it was a good way to occupy everyone’s time while they tallied the
scores and got everyone teamed up for the singles round that looked to be
starting at 2:30pm. A few of us made it in a few times but no winners the first
time around.
