 This past Sunday a group of us went to Collinsville, IL to play in the 3rd Annual Woodland Chains Classic ran by Southern Illinois Chain Gang Club. The tournament was 2 rounds of 18 and had divisions of beginner, intermidate, pro, womans.
As a club we did very well at this event placing everyone that particapated! For many this was their first tournament and was my first as well. I finished 1st in the beginner division, Andy T. finished 3rd, and Gavin F. finished 4th! For the intermidate division Anthony I. finished 2nd, and Paul W. finished 3rd! In all I would say we cleaned up at the event out of the 30 or so players that participated.

The SI Chain Gang put on a great event and I must say the chili was fantastic! The beer was surprisingly better then I had expected, no bud or miller! The club also was understanding for the most part with our rookie mistake of playing the first round from the wrong set of tees and letting us make up for it on the next round.
For the player package we all received discs from Gateway Disc Sports and for palcing in the event we were given credit to use with the club to purchase discs and related items from them. This allowed all of us to leave the event with a few new discs and items which was a nice bonus for the tournament. While no one won any of the ace money, I do believe Paul W. won a CTP hole, and a few won items from a raffle that they had.
I think this will be an event that many of us will like to return to annually, and look forward to playing Woodland again as it was a course that seems to be on the way up with many new additions that make it more enjoyable for the disc golfers out there.
