Dick's Sporting Goods is now open and we here at SIDiscGolf.com knew they had "some" discs from visiting other stores while out and about.

Untill now the only place local to get disc's was Hibbet Sports in the Mall, so it's good to have another local supplier right? Maybe..

Here's the low down:

  • Only INNOVA
  • Only Beast, Valkyrie, Avair, Leopard, and a few others I am forgetting
  • DX, Champion, Tie-Dye plastics available
  • $8.99, $15.99, and $19.99 respectively
  • Champion Set $59.99
  • Starter Bag $29.99
Not bad but one could hope for more of a selection. Hopefully as time goes on maybe a few more models will make it, but as far as SIDG is concerned Dick's is a last resort for discs. With the availablity of online retailers such as Marshall Street there is hardly a good reason to buy locally at this time, hopefully that will change as our group grows.

I stopped by there the other day too and noticed how terrible their selection of discs was. I have been to other locations of Dick's and it's sister company Sports Authority, none of which carry many discs and are only innova. I am going to have to agree with using Marshall Street as a great supplier too, because I ordered my discs on a monday afternoon and was out playing with them that thursday. Plus their prices are so cheap, even with the shipping they are cheaper than at the store.
